Fees and Insurance

Insurance

 

Insurance may cover some or all of your session costs. Please call your insurance provider to verify your benefits and check to make sure Owen Counseling is in your heath insurance network before the first session.  Costs that are not covered by your insurance will be your responsibility.

Suggested questions to ask your insurance company:

1. Is Owen Counseling considered in network?

2.  What are my benefits?  Depending on the plan, do I have a co-pay?  Have I met my deductible?

3. Do I need to have pre-authorization or a referral from my primary care physician to begin counseling?

4. How many session will you authorize in a year?

 

 

Owen Counseling works with a variety of insurance plans, Medicaid, and self-payment options.  

 

Payment
We ask that all patients keep a credit card on file in our in our secure Electronic Health Record System called Therapy Notes.  Your co-pay will be charged at the time of the appointment or when the claim is filed by your insurance.  We also accept cash and check if preferred.  Payment is required at the time of service.

Your Right to a Good Faith Estimate 

 
You have the right to receive a “Good Faith Estimate” explaining how much your medical care will cost. Under the law, Section 2799B-6 of the Public Health Service Act, health care providers need to give patients who don’t have insurance or who are not using insurance, an estimate of the bill for medical items and services. You have the right to receive a Good Faith Estimate for the total expected cost of any non-emergency items or services. This includes related costs like medical tests, prescription drugs, equipment, and hospital fees. Make sure your health care provider gives you a Good Faith Estimate in writing at least 1 business day before your medical service or item. You can also ask your health care provider, and any other provider you choose, for a Good Faith Estimate before you schedule an item or service. If you receive a bill that is at least $400 more than your Good Faith Estimate, you can dispute the bill. Make sure to save a copy or picture of your Good Faith Estimate.
